Working with Athletes

Over 175 people with disabilities have been helped to discover or perfect their athletic abilities in several different types of wheelchair sports and athletic activities.

Over 1,250 residents of the Greater New Orleans Area have attended and been actively engaged in community education, including hands-on activities to share the life experiences and sports while in a wheelchair.

How you can help

Members of the community can help the S.M.C.L. Foundation and Associates Inc., Paralympic Sport Club New Orleans and the Greater New Orleans Wheelchair Athletic Association by giving generously of their time, talent and resources. The foundation will be supported through special event fundraisers, sponsorship, in-kind donations, commemorative gifts, grants, individual contributions and corporate donations.

Individuals or groups can show support by  volunteering at any of our annual events or ongoing programs. At the events, volunteers may help with registration, assisting the athletes, participating with the children, or serving lunch.  No experience is necessary for volunteers.   Please contact us or check the website regularly for updated event information.
