Education & Training

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Rev. Julius Lee is the Founder and President of SMCL Foundation & Associates. After serving in the US Army from 1974 to 1980 and in the Armed Forces from 1980 to 1997, Rev. Lee suffered a spinal cord injury. For over 21 years, as a disabled veteran, he has been advocating for those with disabilities and hardships. His passion for aiding others has led him to serve and educate the community on adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation for veterans and others with disabilities. Rev. Lee also serves as Vice President on the board of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Bayou Gulf States Chapter. He is educated, trained, and certified in adaptive vehicle driving and has worked with Crescent Vans, Inc. to bring attention to adaptive driving services. His community service as a veteran dates back to 1997, when he was involved in high school athletics within the Orleans Public School System. Rev. Lee looks forward to continuing his outreach and bringing attention to the needs of veterans and those with disabilities.
