Launching Louisiana’s Adaptive Air Rifle Program for Veterans
The S.M.C.L. Foundation is breaking new ground with the launch of its Adaptive Air Gun and Rifle Program—bringing a nationally recognized adaptive sport to the New Orleans area.
With support from Move United and the VA Adaptive Sports Warfighters Grant, this program provides veterans and individuals with physical or visual impairments access to a sport that was previously unavailable in the region.
The first training clinic marked a major milestone, introducing participants to a safe, structured, and inclusive shooting environment. With specialized equipment and trained staff, the program ensures accessibility for athletes of all abilities.
This initiative is not only expanding opportunities locally but also placing the New Orleans adaptive sports community on the national map. It represents a powerful step forward in creating inclusive, skill-based recreational opportunities for all.
