Empowering the Special Needs Community

To Whom It May Concern:

I hope this letter finds you well. On behalf of the S.M.C.L. Foundation and Associates, I am writing to request your support for our adaptive sports programs for the year 2024. Our foundation is dedicated to promoting inclusivity and empowerment through adaptive sports, providing veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities the opportunity to engage in various athletic activities such as wheelchair football, adaptive tennis, WCMX (wheelchair motocross), boccia, pickleball, and other adaptive sports.

We believe that sports have the power to transform lives, fostering physical well-being, social integration, and personal growth. Through our programs, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive community where individuals of all abilities can thrive and excel.

In 2024, we have an ambitious lineup of events and clinics planned to further our mission and impact. These include:

  1. The N.O. Saints Wheelchair Football Team: Made up of Veterans and other community individuals with lower extremity physical disabilities. The team is involved together with other teams from across the US for a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork. The teams are a part of the USA Wheelchair Football League, which is the first of its kind football league for individuals with disabilities to reach their highest potential through a competitive, fast-paced, team sport.
  2.  Adaptive/All Inclusive Tennis Clinics: Providing coaching and skill-building opportunities for individuals interested in learning or improving their tennis skills.
  3.  WCMX Clinics and Community Competition: Showcasing the exciting world of wheelchair motocross through clinics, demonstrations, and interactive sessions.
  4. Boccia Clinics: Hosting a friendly yet competitive boccia clinics and tournament for players of all skill levels.
  5. Pickleball Clinics: Introducing participants to the fast-paced and inclusive sport of pickleball, adapted for individuals with disabilities.
  6. Air Riffle/Pistol Clinic: Providing training and preparation for individuals desiring to become an athlete, coach, instructor, and/or range safety officer in learning and participating in a program designed for individuals with disabilities to have fun while preparing to engage in local, regional, national and international air riffle and pistol competitions.

To ensure the success of these programs, we are seeking sponsors who share our commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Your support will not only help cover the costs associated with organizing these events but will also enable us to provide scholarships, equipment, and resources to participants in need.
