A Big Thanks to the City of Kenner for Making Wentwood Playground Skatepark More Accessible!

We are excited to extend a heartfelt thanks to the City of Kenner and all the officials involved in upgrading Wentwood Playground Skatepark. A brand-new concrete path has been poured, leading directly to the skatepark, transforming it into a much more accessible space for wheelchair users and athletes with mobility challenges. This upgrade is more than just a physical improvement—it represents a significant step towards creating an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of their mobility needs, can safely and comfortably access the park. No longer will athletes and visitors in wheelchairs have to struggle through dirt and grass to enjoy the facilities. Now, with a smooth, accessible path, Wentwood Skatepark can truly be enjoyed by all.Improvements like these are truly special. They remind us of the importance of accessibility and inclusion in our communities. Making spaces like Wentwood Playground more adaptive-friendly shows a commitment to ensuring that all members of the community—athletes and visitors alike—can participate, enjoy, and feel welcomed. We are deeply grateful for the city’s dedication to fostering a more adaptive and welcoming environment. Thank you, City of Kenner, for helping us take another step toward building a community where everyone can feel empowered and included. Together, we are making strides toward a future where accessibility is the standard, not the exception.Let’s keep pushing for progress and continue advocating for more improvements like these!Thank you again to everyone involved in making this happen!– The S.M.C.L.
